F1 Grand Prix in Monaco Extended Until 2035

The Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco has been officially extended for four more seasons. An elated Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) announced that “the race will therefore remain on the World Championship calendar until 2035! 🤩” It was previously only guaranteed to continue until 2031.

The agreement was signed at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza today (Friday 5 September 2025) by Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, and ACM President Michel Boeri.

Prince Albert II of Monaco, said the renewal is “in keeping with a sporting and historical tradition to which the Principality remains deeply attached. I can only welcome this renewed commitment, which is testament to our collective success, the excellence of our collaboration with Formula 1, and the unique place that Monaco occupies in the international motorsport landscape.”

Michel Boeri thanked Prince Albert for his “constant support” and Stefano Domenicali for his “renewed trust”.

“The Automobile Club de Monaco is delighted with this four-year extension, which now secures our commitment until 2035,” said Boeri. “This agreement reaffirms our determination to continue delivering an exceptional, unique and world-renowned race weekend, and to maintain the Monaco Grand Prix as an unmissable event on the international calendar.”

When will the Monaco Grand Prix 2026 be held?

Next year the famous race will be held in June and not in May. Traditionally it is held in the last weekend of the Cannes Film Festival, which (apart from during Covid) is always in May, with next year’s dates being 12-23 May.

The Monaco Grand Prix – which will mark the opening round of the European season of F1 World Champtionship – will take place on 4-7 June 2026.

When will Monaco Grand Prix tickets be available to purchase?

From Monday 8 September 2025, ACM members will have exclusive access to ticket sales for 15 days.

From Monday 22 September, the general public will be able to buy tickets.

Monaco Grand Prix History

The Monaco Grand Prix, which began in 1929, is one of the oldest and most prestigious motor races in the world, established well before the F1 World Championship which only started in 1950.

According to the ACM: “The 3.337 km urban circuit has demanded the utmost precision and concentration from drivers for almost 100 years. Its legendary corners have seen the triumphs of motorsport icons such as Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen… and also two Monegasque drivers: Louis Chiron in 1931 and Charles Leclerc in 2024. More recently, Lando Norris added his name to this prestigious winners’ list in 2025.”

Today Formula 1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali, said:

“The streets of Monaco have echoed with the sound of Formula 1 since the earliest days of the sport, and I am delighted to announce the extension of this fantastic event until 2035. It is an iconic race, loved by drivers and fans alike, with a unique atmosphere thanks to its setting in the world’s most glamorous Principality. I would like to extend my special thanks to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri and everyone involved in securing the long-term future of this historic partnership.”
