Wellness Rituals for a Spring Reset on the Riviera

Spring on the Riviera is something truly special. The light softens, the air warms, and everything begins to bloom again… writes Naturopathic Nutritionist Erica.

As the days grow longer and brighter, it’s common to feel lighter both emotionally and physically. Our bodies respond beautifully to this shift in sunlight, making it the perfect time to gently support and optimise our natural rhythms.

A spring equinox “cleanse” isn’t about restriction or intensity it’s about embracing simple, nourishing rituals that align with the season and your surroundings.

Supportive practices to ease into the new spring season:

  • Start your morning slowly, outside on a terrace or by an open window, with a loose-leaf herbal tea such as dandelion, sage, or artichoke. These herbs support gentle detoxification while grounding you at the start of the day.
  • Make the most of the incredible local produce. Fresh oranges, blood oranges, strawberries, and leafy greens are abundant. These are a great source of vitamin C, helping to boost your energy in the morning.
  • Go to the local market and incorporate fresh, seasonal vegetables into your meals, especially cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage to support liver health and hormone balance.
  • Enjoy fresh juices a few times a week using ingredients like beetroot, celery, lemon, and ginger – vibrant, and full of nutrients.
  • Take your meals outside whenever possible. Eat slowly and savour each bite.
  • Soak up the sunshine daily. A short walk along the coast will support vitamin D levels, mood, and overall wellbeing.
  • Incorporate mineral-rich supplements like spirulina or moringa for an extra boost, especially if you’re feeling depleted after winter.
  • Consider adding Shilajit drops to support energy and vitality, particularly as your body transitions into a more active season.
  • Take relaxing baths with Epsom salts in the evening to unwind your nervous system after long, sun-filled days.
  • Try gentle dry body brushing to stimulate circulation and support your lymphatic system.
  • Include beetroot in salads or simple dishes, they’re rich in betaine, it’s a beautiful way to support circulation and reduce inflammation.
  • Spend as much time outdoors as you can. Whether it’s a morning coffee in the sun, a walk through a village, or time by the sea, nature here is one of your greatest healing tools.
  • Reconnect with yourself through slow, intentional practices, journaling, sketching, or simply sitting in stillness and enjoying the moment.
