Oetker Collection has announced they will be opening a new ‘masterpiece’ hotel in Saint Tropez, between the beautiful old town and fabulous Pampelonne beaches in Ramatuelle.
The German luxury hotel management company is renowned for its priceless collection of five-star hotels for affluent travellers. It already has two iconic hotels on the French Côte d’Azur, namely Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Cap d’Antibes, famous for hosting many of the international movie stars who flock to the Cannes Film Festival; and Château Saint-Martin & Spa in Vence.
The glamorous new French Riviera hotel is “set to debut” in 2027, according to Oetker Collection.
The company posted the exciting news this week, together with a video highlighting some of Saint Tropez’s iconic attributes from Club 55 to Sénéquier, the tarte tropézienne to the famous old port and bell tower of the Notre Dame de l’Assomption. (See below.)
Oetker Collection announced:
“Bonjour, Saint Tropez! ⛵️ After our recent arrival in Capri with @hotel_lapalmacapri and soon to be unveiled debut in the US with @thevinetahotel in Palm Beach, it felt only right to return to the Côte d’Azur for our next adventure!
“We’re thrilled to announce that Oetker Collection is set to open in St Tropez in 2027 with an extraordinary masterpiece hotel located right between the iconic town and the sun-kissed beaches of Pampelonne. ☀️”
Oetker has enlisted renowned Parisian interior design studio Gilles et Boissier and Triptyque Architecture to turn their hotel dream into a reality. Gilles et Boissier’s previous hotel projects include the Ritz Carlton and Baccarat Hotels in New York, amongst others; whilst Triptyque has collaborated with the likes of French designer Philippe Starck (for plant-covered Villa M in Paris) and has huge respect for the natural environment.
Their brief is to create a sanctuary that will “blend chic sophistication with effortless tranquility” embracing the local Provençal glamour and simplicity.
“The Saint-Tropez hotel has all the ingredients to be a true masterpiece and we look forward to creating a unique haven that combines both the relaxed authenticity and sophistication of the region,” said Oetker Collection’s CEO Timo Gruenert.
Guests can expect an authentic Provençal experience full of local flavours and delicacies.
“Think utter Provençal magic: aged tiles, sun-dappled stones, lush greenery and verdant gardens, and wooden pergolas, all wrapped in an air of rustic elegance and timeless glamour,” said Oetker.
According to the Oetker Collection website, the hotel will be recreated on the former site of Mas Bellevue Saint-Tropez.

“Comprising 53 rooms and suites each with a private terrace or patio, the site will offer an oversized infinity pool, a vast wellness area, a bar and a restaurant with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the sea,” said Oetker Collection.
The company explained that the hotel will comprise 11 Provençal houses, “conceived as a hamlet, immersed in nature within a beautifully landscaped garden”.
According to Forbes magazine, the project will be in partnership with the Pariente family who own another of Oetker Collection’s iconic destinations – L’Apogée Courchevel in the French ski resort town of Courchevel.
