Monaco’s Grimaldi family welcomed a beautiful new addition to the fold this week as Princess Stéphanie became a grandmother for the second time. Her son Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie announced the birth of their daughter, Constance, who appears to have been born in the Principality on 2 December 2024 (according to her wrist band in the photo below).

Marie (née Chevallier) posted the exciting announcement on social media on Wednesday evening, together with cute photos of the newborn baby girl and her sister taking a peek.
She wrote: “Our family is growing again with the arrival of our little Constance ♥️ Someone was eager to meet her 🥰” (Notre famille s’agrandit à nouveau avec l’arrivée de notre petite Constance ♥️ Il y en a une qui était pressée de la rencontrer 🥰)

The photos showed the couple’s 20-month-old daughter Victoria (full name Victoire Maguy Lam Huong Ducrue) holding hands with her little sister.

Last week Marie had posted adorable pictures on Instagram, showing her pregnancy. In one photo Victoria can be seen kissing her mum’s tummy, and in another, the family is seen with their dog, Pancake. The German Shepherd was adopted in 2018 from a shelter in Romania and is considered part of the family. Marie captioned the post: “Soon to be 5.” (See below.)
The couple, who married in Monaco in the summer of 2019, reportedly met at a bar in Cannes when they were both students at Skema Business School in Sophia Antopolis, according to Tatler. Marie’s family is originally from Vietnam (and that is where he romantically chose to propose to her). Daniel’s father is former bodybuilder Daniel Ducruet who was briefly married to Princess Stéphanie in the mid-’90s. Princess Stéphanie and Ducruet also have a daughter Pauline; and the princess has another daughter Camille Gottlieb (whose father is Jean Raymond Gottlieb).
Little Constance is the great-grandchild of the late Grace Kelly, and her father’s uncle is Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Her grandmother Princess Stéphanie is likely to play an important role in her life. In an interview with Hello! magazine last year, Louis revealed that his mother “gives a lot of love to her grandchild. My mother has a busy daily schedule, but whenever it allows, she asks to look after Victoire. When she was born, my mother often asked us: ‘Do you want to go out to the cinema? I can look after the baby.”
