Cannes has been nominated as the World’s Leading Festival & Event Destination 2025. If the French seaside resort wins, this will be the fourth year in a row!
It’s no surprise, as Cannes provides a brilliant venue for global festivals and events. The coastal town is conveniently located near an international airport (Nice Côte d’Azur) and offers sandy beaches, designer stores, five-star accommodation, fine cuisine, an Old Town and a sophisticated business centre at its heart, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

Cannes is already world famous for its Film Festival; but also hosts popular global events like Cannes Lions for the advertising and creative industry, MIPCOM, an international fireworks competition, yachting festival, tax free exhibition, as well as AI, sports, dance and gaming festivals and events.

Today, Mayor David Lisnard encouraged his 100,000+ followers on social media to vote for Cannes.
“After 3 titles in 2022, 2023 and 2024 our city can become World Tourism Champion for the 4th time in a row for its ability to host and organise the planet’s largest festivals and events,” he said.

Cannes will be defending its title at the World Travel Awards against several other destinations including London, Barcelona, Durban, Dubai, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Sydney.
The mayor says: “The hardest thing isn’t getting a title, but keeping it. And since nothing is gained, I invite you to vote massively for our ‘global village’!”
