The next exotic location for White Lotus could be the exquisite Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera, according to reports. UPDATE: Next White Lotus to be mainly filmed in Saint-Tropez at Château de la Messardière.
The famous TV series that blends murder and mystery with luxury and wealth, is expected to begin filming Season Four from May 2026. According to entertainment industry outlet Deadline, sources have confided that France has been selected as the next destination for the hit show.
The first season was filmed in Hawaii (during covid), followed by Sicily and Thailand. The production company has a partnership with The Four Seasons of which there are three in France: Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Paris (Hotel George V) and Megève in the Alps.
While HBO/Max hasn’t yet confirmed the news, and the sources didn’t divulge which city or town the filmmakers will be heading to, speculation is rife that it will be to the glamorous Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel perched on the peninsula of Cap Ferrat, one of the wealthiest areas on the Côte d’Azur.

The hotel has hosted endless film legends, rock stars, royalty and artists and has its own rich and storied history. It’s a palace where jasmine and roses flourish, jagged cliffs give way to incredible sea views, and a canopy of the intertwined branches of tall pine trees between the hotel and the coast would feature perfectly in the show.
Mike White, writer and director of White Lotus, has made it clear in the past that he prefers filming in warmer climates so the Alps seems an unlikely choice; and based on the previous seasons, a city setting like Paris would veer away from the traditional resort atmosphere of the show. Although he did say after the last season that for the next he wanted “to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular”.
According to Deadline, White Lotus is usually filmed at a Four Seasons hotel with a few other nearby hotels stepping in for certain scenes.
Feeding the South of France rumours, White was allegedly spotted holidaying at the Negresco Hotel in Nice this summer (where scenes from James Bond’s Never Say Never Again were filmed). Both hotels share a Belle Epoque architecture and are already film-friendly.
Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat has appeared in several movies and TV shows over the years, from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in 1988 to Season 2 of Emily in Paris (2021), as well as Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016).

Season 3 of The White Lotus received 23 Emmy nominations. Winners will be announced at the main Emmy Awards on 15 September 2025, although at a preliminary night on Saturday (6 September) Cristobal Tapia De Veer won for White Lotus’s Original main title theme music.
