Prince Albert II of Monaco has sent a heartfelt message to US President Donald Trump following a shooting incident during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington over the weekend.
Signed ‘Albert, Prince of Monaco‘, the message read:
“It is with emotion that I learnt of the events which took place (Saturday) night in Washington, on the sidelines of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
“I wish to convey my relief at knowing that you, together with the First Lady and all those in attendance, are safe and unharmed following this act of exceptional gravity.
“On behalf of the Monegasque community, Princess Charlene and my Family, I extend to you, as well as your spouse and the American people, the expression of our solidarity.”
Prince Albert, whose mother was the late American film actress Grace Kelly, attended the Super Bowl LIX with President Trump last year, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans during his visit to the United States.

A 31-year-old suspect was arrested in the Washington Hilton hotel, where the press dinner with President Trump was being held. The man has been named as Cole Tomas Allen who hails from California. His motive is still under investigation, although authorities have conceded that it is likely targeting administrative officials, including President Trump.
