On the French Riviera, the International School of Nice (ISN) has been shaping global citizens for more than 45 years. With over 60 nationalities represented among students and 30 among staff, the school is a hub of diversity, creativity, and forward-thinking education. From Young Explorers at age three to Grade 12 graduates, ISN provides a full international education, preparing students to thrive anywhere in the world.
As Head of School Mel Curtis explains:
“At ISN we aim for Academics PLUS – pairing strong academic foundations with a secure and supportive environment that encourages holistic growth. Our future-focused curriculum equips students not just with knowledge, but with the mindset and skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
A Curriculum Designed for Tomorrow
ISN has been an IB World School since 1990, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (IB DP). Students in Grades 9 and 10 also take IGCSEs, creating a solid foundation recognised by universities worldwide. By the end of their schooling, students can choose from three graduation pathways — the IB Diploma, IB Certificates, or the High School Diploma — allowing each learner to follow the route best suited to their future goals. Each student’s journey is supported by the “Futureproof” university counselling programme, starting in Grade 8, guiding learners toward their individual aspirations and strengths. The results are impressive, as last year, every applicant received a university offer.
Learning Spaces That Inspire
The ISN campus is designed to spark curiosity and creativity. The Space Centre encourages hands-on exploration through STEAM projects, coding, and collaborative challenges that develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Meanwhile, the Marine Learning Hub immerses students in ocean conservation, sustainability, and global environmental issues, helping them connect learning to real-world impact. Modern labs, a teaching kitchen, and creative arts spaces ensure every student has the tools to explore, experiment, and innovate.
Beyond the Classroom
Life at ISN extends far beyond traditional lessons. Through its membership in Globeducate, students take part in international arts festivals, Model United Nations, Academic Olympics, and partnerships with organisations such as the WWF. Projects allow learners to pursue start-ups, coding, eco-projects, and more, while a variety of school trips further expand the beyond the classroom experience for learners at ISN.
Shaping the Leaders of he Future
From robotics competitions and theatre productions to environmental action projects and global leadership summits, students at ISN are empowered to explore their passions and take part in meaningful projects. The school’s commitment to innovation, global awareness, and personalised learning ensures that graduates leave not only academically prepared but ready to make a real difference in the world.
On the Côte d’Azur, ISN stands out as a school where education meets innovation — a place where students learn about the world and are ready to shape it.
