Flower Parade and Funfair at Valbonne’s Saint-Blaise Festival this Weekend

For three days, Valbonne comes alive with the festive spirit of Fête de la Saint-Blaise, with a floral parade, funfair and lots of fabulous food. From 23 to 25 January the French village will celebrate with a vibrant festival programme inspired by this year’s iconic theme of the style and sounds of the ’80s.

The event, which began as a grape festival in 1961, traditionally marks the last full weekend of January, and is the first parade of the year on the French Riviera.

Join locals in Valbonne this weekend where you can immerse yourself in the rhythm of the 1980s (come dance at the disco on Saturday night), taste gourmet treats created by well-known chefs from the South of France and discover local produce.

Don’t miss the colourful flower parade on Sunday, with floral floats, and a shower of bright yellow mimosa, but you will have to have quick reflexes to catch a sprig of the beautiful flower.

You will get to see the lively procession of local associations, experience the carnival atmosphere, plus a host of family-friendly activities. And if you have children, make sure you leave enough time for a firm favourite, the traditional funfair.
