Emily in Paris Heads to Greece and Monaco

‘Emily in Paris’ is heading to Monaco and Greece in Season Six, Netflix confirmed this week.

The hit TV series had dropped a major hint about Greece in the final episode of the last season, when Emily’s on-off love interest Gabriel (French actor, Lucas Bravo) sent Emily (Lily Collins) a postcard inviting her to Greece, where he’s currently employed as a private chef on a super yacht. The last we saw, his boss had given him a few weeks of vacation, and on hearing that Emily was single again, he invited her to join him aboard the yacht.

“Will Emily accept? Will she even get Gabriel’s postcard?” teases Netflix.

It appears to be a yes since the streaming giant announced that production on the next season begins in May and that the locations will be in Greece and Monaco.

American actress and musician Ashley Park, who plays Emily’s best friend Mindy Chen, shared a video earlier this week of the cast dancing to Abba hit ‘Mama Mia’ (clearly referencing the film of the same name, which was set in Greece).

Ashley said: “Hot off the press: we’re goin to Greece babes! #emilyinparis”

Series creator Darren Star admits he loves taking the show to different locations. Rome, Venice, Saint-Tropez. But we will always have Paris! At a press conference in December he said that ‘Emily in Paris’ will never permanently leave its home base “but if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that…”

Star was recently awarded a ‘chevalier de la Légion d’honneur’, France’s highest honour for civilians.

‘Emily in Paris’, which has done wonders for promoting the dream of Paris, has millions of viewers. (Season 5 recorded 26.8-million views globally in just 11 days, according to a Netflix press release.) The last season was the number one TV series in 24 countries (including France, Italy, Brazil and Germany) and appeared in the Top 10 of 91 countries.

Netflix said the new season will be airing “sometime in 2026”.

The French Riviera is currently a hot spot for TV and film productions:

  • The Oceans 11 prequel, starring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, will be centred around the Monaco Grand Prix.
  • White Lotus Season 4 has already begun production this month on the Côte d’Azur, with the latest murder mystery set to revolve around the Cannes Film Festival. It will also be filmed in Saint-Tropez and Monaco, as well as Cannes where the Hotel Martinez will star as the luxurious White Lotus Cannes.
  • Emily in Paris Season 6 will film in Monaco and Greece.
