The 64th edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival is poised to make history – with not one, but two remarkable women leading the way as Jury Presidents for 2025. For the first time since its inception, the prestigious Nymphe d’Or competition will be guided by a dynamic duo: American actress Judith Light and French journalist and filmmaker Mireille Dumas.
Judith Light, Fiction Jury President at Monte-Carlo TV Festival
Judith Light, a powerhouse across theatre, film, and television, brings a legacy of artistic excellence to her role as President of the Fiction Jury. Who can ever forget her as the mom Angela Bower in hit TV sitcom Who’s The Boss? (1984-1992). With multiple Emmy® and Tony Awards to her name—not to mention a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—Light’s recent screen presence includes roles in HBO’s Julia (you can watch on Max in France), Starz’s Shining Vale, and the darkly satirical The Menu opposite Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes. When not dazzling onscreen, she serves on the board of New York’s MCC Theater, championing the next generation of storytellers.
Mireille Dumas, Documentaries & News Jury President at Monte-Carlo TV Festival
Across the Atlantic, Mireille Dumas commands equal reverence. A journalist, director, and producer with a profound gift for capturing the human condition, Dumas has long been a leading voice in French reportage. As President of the Documentaries & News Jury, she brings not only her signature sensitivity but also decades of experience uncovering stories that resonate well beyond the screen.
Together, Light and Dumas embody the spirit of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival—celebrating diversity, creativity, and the evolving power of television as both art and witness.
With these two formidable talents at the helm, this year’s competition promises to be one of the most compelling yet.
