Halloween on the French Riviera: What’s Happening from Menton to Saint-Tropez in 2026

Halloween may not be the most traditional of French celebrations, but the Côte d’Azur has certainly embraced it. This October, towns along the French Riviera are swapping sunshine for sorcery, with pumpkin workshops, fancy-dress parades, spooky shows and plenty of opportunities for children to fill their bags with sweets.

With Halloween falling on Saturday 31 October in 2026, there is even more reason to make a weekend of it.

Here’s our guide to some of the Halloween events planned along the French Riviera, travelling from Menton in the east towards Saint-Tropez.

Menton

Menton is getting the celebrations started a day early, with the city transforming the Jardins Biovès into a Halloween playground on Friday 30 October.

From 13:30 to 16:00, families can expect games and activity stands, sweets and a few Halloween surprises. The free event is aimed at children aged six and over, with costumes very much encouraged.

Earlier in the week, the Jardin Serre de la Madone is offering something a little more elegant than the average carved pumpkin. On Wednesday 28 October, adults and children aged 10 and over can take part together in a floral workshop creating a pumpkin decorated with flowers.

Beausoleil

Just above Monaco, Beausoleil is stretching Halloween over several days with “Terror in Charlot”, running from 28 to 31 October at the Centre Culturel Prince Jacques de Monaco.

The programme includes a costume swap, a giant Halloween-themed game of Werewolf, creative workshops for children and teenagers, before culminating in a big Halloween party on Saturday 31 October. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

Monaco

Monaco has confirmed a family Halloween afternoon at Parc Princesse Antoinette on Saturday 31 October.

From 14:00, there will be costumed characters, face painting, a sensory digging activity, magic-potion making and sweets, followed by a Halloween Show at 14:30. A large interactive game will also take place at the lower entrance to the park.

One important detail for visitors: the activities are reserved for children aged four and over who either live or attend school in Monaco.

And while it isn’t specifically a Halloween event, the traditional Monaco funfair will also be running at Port Hercule throughout the period, from 16 October to 19 November.

Nice

Nice has Halloween activities running throughout the school holidays rather than concentrating everything into one afternoon.

For younger children, Théâtre l’Alphabet is staging the interactive show “Expédition Halloween” on several dates between 14 and 29 October. Children become part of the adventure as they help an explorer and a rather dispirited Halloween wizard rediscover potions, pumpkins and the magic of the festival.

Elsewhere across the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area, the official tourism programme includes Halloween shows, workshops, games, themed cinema and other activities throughout the Toussaint holidays.

And on Halloween night itself, Nice will have plenty for older revellers too, with themed events and parties appearing across the city.

Cagnes-sur-Mer

Halloween begins early in Cagnes-sur-Mer with “The Tales of Mirabelle the Witch” on Friday 23 October.

Mirabelle is a rather friendly and talkative witch who welcomes children into a world of bubbling potions, pumpkins, mysterious ingredients, stories and songs. Audience participation is part of the fun, with young visitors recruited to help with the witchcraft.

The hour-long show begins at 15:30 at the Centre Culturel and tickets cost €5.

Cagnes-sur-Mer is also hosting the Ciné Chouette festival from 19 October to 8 November, which forms part of the wider Nice Côte d’Azur Halloween programme.

Biot

Biot is transforming its historic village into a suitably spooky setting for Halloween on Saturday 31 October, with an evening of free entertainment beginning at 17:00.

The celebrations start with La Caravane des Diablotins, a fantastical procession of drums, performers and strange creatures making its way along Rue Saint-Sébastien.

From 17:30, braver visitors can venture inside the Maison de l’Horreur, where the story centres around a mysterious virus and a mission to retrieve its antidote. Younger monsters have a rather sweeter incentive to dress up, with a giant distribution of Halloween sweets taking place on Place des Arcades at 17:45.

The evening culminates with fire performances in the Jardin Frédéric-Mistral at 19:00 and 20:00.

Antibes Juan-les-Pins

Antibes and Juan-les-Pins have a handful of smaller Halloween events during the school holidays.

At Le Petit Théâtre de Laure en Bar in Juan-les-Pins, younger audiences can see a special Halloween performance featuring Madame Tralala on Saturday 24 October at 15:30.

Then, from 26 to 29 October, the Théâtre du Tribunal in Antibes is running children’s theatre workshops. For seven to 12-year-olds, “Allo Halloween?” invites witches, wizards, werewolves and pumpkins into the children’s own spooky stories, culminating in scenes performed for their parents.

And of course all day long on Saturday you can expect to see lots of children dressed up and shopkeepers and restaurants dishing out sweets and treats!

Valbonne

Valbonne is a particularly atmospheric place to celebrate Halloween, with its narrow streets, stone façades and historic village centre providing a suitably enchanting backdrop. The entire village transforms for Halloween. Full details of the village’s 2026 Halloween celebrations have yet to be announced, but one firm fixture is already returning: the Épouvant’Trail on Saturday 31 October.

The Halloween night trail sets off from Parc des Bouillides at 18:15, with participants encouraged to arrive in costume for an evening designed to be as much fun as it is frightening. There are three routes this year, including a 1.15 km Kids Trail for younger runners, alongside longer 9 km and 15 km challenges.

Valbonne has embraced Halloween in previous years with family activities and celebrations around the commune, so we’ll be watching for further announcements as 31 October approaches and will update this guide with any additional village events.

Cannes

Cannes is making considerably more of Halloween, with events for both children and adults.

On Friday 30 October, Cannes La Bocca hosts a free Grande Fête d’Halloween from 16:00 at Place de l’Église Saint-Jean-Bosco.

Then on Halloween itself, “La Petite Boutique” comes to Salle Le Raimu. The family show imagines a mysterious shop opening its doors on Halloween night, complete with magical objects, tricks and plenty of audience participation. Performances take place at 10:00, 14:30 and 16:30.

The wider Cannes Halloween programme also includes children’s activities, cinema, workshops and nightlife, while the P’tits Cannes à You festival runs through the Toussaint holidays with shows and creative activities for younger visitors.

Around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez

As you head west towards Saint-Tropez, Halloween spreads across the villages of the Gulf, with a particularly busy programme this year.

Ramatuelle is running Halloween-themed children’s workshops on 21 and 28 October, as well as a Halloween treasure trail through the village during the school holidays. On Saturday 31 October, there will also be a Halloween children’s party from 16:00.

Cogolin has several creative workshops before its big Halloween weekend. On Friday 30 October, a Halloween show with five singing performers runs from 16:30 to 18:00. The following afternoon, the town hosts a spectacular Mexican skeleton parade, with stilt performers, acrobats, juggling and other circus acts. The procession leaves the Centre Maurin des Maures at 15:30 and makes its way to Place Victor Hugo.

Gassin takes Halloween into the evening with “La Noche de los Muertos” on Saturday 31 October, a Mexican-inspired night with a DJ and dancers running from 21:00 until 01:00.

Grimaud is also planning a Halloween treasure hunt on 31 October.

Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez traditionally makes quite an occasion of Halloween. In 2025, celebrations included a costumed parade through the streets, activities at the town’s museums, pumpkin carving, an escape game at the Musée de l’Annonciade and Halloween events at the Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma.

However, at the time of writing, the town has not yet published its official Halloween programme for 2026. We will update as soon as they announce their plans.

Halloween across the Côte d’Azur

There are plenty more celebrations away from the coast too, from Halloween treasure hunts in medieval villages to parties and lantern-lit visits. Côte d’Azur France is maintaining a dedicated calendar of Halloween events across the region, with new activities continuing to be added as 31 October approaches.

So whether your idea of Halloween involves witches and pumpkins, a children’s treasure hunt, a Mexican skeleton parade or simply an excuse to dress up, there should be somewhere along the Riviera to celebrate this October.
