From 8 July to 31 August 2025, the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, together with the Centre Pompidou in Paris, is presenting Colours! A must-see summer exhibition on the Riviera dedicated to a modern history of colour, as seen through some of the greatest masterpieces of the 20th century.
Curated by Didier Ottinger, Deputy Director of the Musée National d’Art Moderne, this exhibition brings together more than a hundred art works by major artists, from Pablo Picasso to Sonia Delaunay, including Modigliani, Matisse, Basquiat and Kandinsky.
Through a sensory and visual journey, it encourages visitors to rethink their perception of colour in modern art. At the heart of the exhibition, a groundbreaking combination of sound and scent creates a unique atmosphere.
Seven monochromatic spaces are enhanced by sounds created by composer Roque Rivas. Meanwhile Alexis Dadier, the ‘nose’ at Fragonard Perfume House, has developed olfactory experiences to enrich the art exhibition. These unique installations allow visitors to see colour not only visually, but also through other senses, hearing and smell.
