Princess Charlene of Monaco has again raised vital awareness of first aid techniques, this time with the emphasis on the important role women play as they are often the first educators within families.
To commemorate International Women’s Day on Saturday (8 March 2025), the princess joined other women at a life-saving skills workshop which was organised by the Monaco Red Cross (of which the Princess is a Goodwill Ambassador).
The women at the workshop were taught essential actions and tips for saving infants, children and adults, with focus on cardiac resuscitation (CPR) and preventing choking. Many of the skills relate to emergency situations that occur in daily life, including in aquatic environments, where quick intervention can make the difference in saving a life.

Princess Charlene is known for her fervent belief that first aid training should be accessible to all. The former South African Olympic swimmer has long been committed through her Foundation to sharing essential life-saving skills with as many people as possible, particularly with regard to drowning prevention programmes.
Saturday’s event was held in collaboration with Entreparents and the Association of Femmes Leaders Mondiales Monaco (Women World Leaders).

Fans took to social media to praise Princess Charlene for pursuing noble causes. One said: “She is a princess among princesses. Princess Charlene is discreet and likes to devote herself to others, through her foundation.”
