There’s a new luxury hotel on the French Riviera… for cats! The Maison Ronron (which means the House of Purring) opened its doors to the feline residents of Monaco and surrounds in mid-October.
The cat hotel is the very first in the area (in Beausoleil, on the outskirts of Monaco), according to Delphine, associate manager of this new concept. Riviera residents have already embraced the opportunity to leave their beloved felines in the pampering hands of Delphine and co-founder Charlotte, whilst they’re away on holiday.
“We were delighted to welcome around ten cats during the Christmas holidays,” Delphine told Riviera Edition. That’s about half the hotel’s capacity.
No cat fights!
Fortunately, since the hotel is no single cat’s “territory”, there’s no aggression between them, no marking or guarding of territory; so the cats get on “very well”.

“They play all day and spend the night in their own room, which is perfectly suited to their needs,” says Delphine. “A rota system is in place so that the most anxious cats can also enjoy the shared space at night. An alarm and surveillance system enables us to keep an eye on our residents at night.”
As part of the €39 per night package, each hotel guest’s usual brand of dry cat food is ordered to meet its needs as fully as possible. (View more details on the site.)

“We also have several types of litter to suit their requirements. Wet food, treats, etc. can also be ordered,” explains Delphine.
Thanks to Maison Ronron’s location, it’s enabled Delphine and Charlotte to reach a local clientele as well as residents of neighbouring towns on the French Riviera.
“Unfortunately, there is a shortage of places that welcome pets, and even more so for our feline friends. That’s why MAISON RONRON was created,” says Delphine, adding, “Your new favourite address for pampering your cats while you’re away.”
The hotel decor is beautiful, fresh and clean. Apart from the ‘bedrooms’, there are two playrooms, a cosy reception area and an ‘adaptation’ room where a natural pheromone diffuser, cushions, music and toys allow new guests to gently “acclimatise” before meeting fellow guests.

Knowing their cats are going to be pampered and well taken care of in beautiful surroundings, is a relief for human owners. As Delphine says: “Don’t feel guilty about going away, we’ll take care of everything!”
