A small pod of dolphins were spotted frolicking on the French Riviera this week. Local Antibes Juan-les-Pins amateur photographer ANNE HIRSCH<\/strong><\/a> captured these wonderful photos of the dolphins playing along the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur coast in the South of France, on Wednesday (12 March 2025).<\/p>\n

While residents and holiday-makers on the French Riviera have been a little put out by the unusual rainfall this week, it appears the dolphins have been loving it! (Between Sunday and Wednesday 12 March ’25, the equivalent of nearly two months’ worth of rain fell in just three days in parts of the Alpes-Maritimes.)<\/p>\n

Anne told Riviera Edition<\/a>: “I swim all winter at Plage Gallice (beach) on Cap d’Antibes… I sometimes see dolphins, but on Wednesday they stayed all<\/em> day in the bay of Juan-les-Pins.”<\/p>\n

There were four dolphins altogether, “including a mother and her baby”, according to Anne, who specialises in landscape and wildlife photography.<\/p>\n

Dolphins are regularly seen in the Mediterranean, and sometimes love to swim in the wake of small fishing boats in the early morning, but it’s a rare treat to view them so close to shore all day!<\/p>\n
