The Foreign Information Point (<em>Point d&#8217;Information Etrangers<\/em>), which debuted on Monday (3 March &#8217;25), intends to help foreigners by simplifying the administration of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/how-to-get-french-residency\/\">French visa and residence applications and renewals<\/a> and answering general questions.<\/p>\n<p>This will be good news for anyone from abroad trying to settle or stay in France, where the complicated paperwork (bureaucracy!) is almost as famous as the Eiffel Tower itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You can now walk in to the Alpes-Maritimes Pr\u00e9fecture in Nice <\/strong>(147 Boulevard du Mercantour)<strong>, without an appointment, during the following hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mondays from 1pm to 2.30pm<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8.30am to 10am<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s important to note<\/strong> though that this special service is only for those whose residence document<strong> expires within two months<\/strong>, or who need an appointment for a paperless legal proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>In a post for foreigners, the prefecture said the <strong>Information Point can be used to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>check if your resident permit (<em>Titre de S\u00e9jour) <\/em>is available, and collect it,<\/li>\n<li>find out the progress of your application,<\/li>\n<li>register a request for an extension,<\/li>\n<li>collect a form to begin an inquiry by post,<\/li>\n<li>get information about a legal process (ie. they can answer general questions for you about residence permits).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The prefecture states that the <strong>new service can NOT be used to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>apply for a <em>Titre de S\u00e9jour,<\/em><\/li>\n<li>get a receipt on site,<\/li>\n<li>submit a document to complete a current application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6842\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6842\" style=\"width: 696px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6842 size-large\" title=\"Point Information Etrangers Information Point for Foreigners Nice\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-725x1024.jpg\" alt=\"New service for foreigners on French Riviera: Point Information Etrangers Information Point for Foreigners Nice\" width=\"696\" height=\"983\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-725x1024.jpg 725w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-768x1085.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-297x420.jpg 297w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-150x212.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-300x424.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice-696x983.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.rivieraedition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Point-Information-Etrangers-Information-Point-for-Foreigners-Nice.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6842\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Alpes Maritimes government site<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>All other requests need to be addressed via mail to the Prefecture.
