It’s official. One of the best restaurants in the world is right here on the French Riviera<\/a>. La Liste yesterday unveiled its prestigious Top 1000 list<\/a>; and tied in first place is La Vague d’Or<\/em> in Saint-Tropez at Le Cheval Blanc<\/a><\/strong> luxury hotel.<\/p>\n

This will come as no surprise to chef Arnaud Donckele<\/strong>‘s loyal diners (and fans) who flock to the venue at Plage de Bouillabaisse throughout the summer! La Vague d’Or – which means The Golden Wave in English – has already won several accolades, including being awarded three Michelin stars. (So talented is Donckele that his Parisian restaurant, Pl\u00e9nitude, is also on The List, in second place.)<\/p>\n

La Vague d’Or specialises in creating a “symphony” of Mediterranean and Proven\u00e7al culinary delights. The hotel and restaurant are currently closed for the winter, but will be open again to welcome you in May 2025.<\/p>\n

This year, La Vague d’Or shares the top spot with eight other restaurants from seven countries, which La Liste said illustrates “the richness and diversity of the world’s haute gastronomy”. All nine scored 99.50%.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the others in the top spot is chef Guy Savoy<\/strong> whose restaurant in Paris won for its eighth consecutive year. (Just two weeks ago Savoy was elected as an open member to the Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts<\/em>, in a major nod of recognition to gastronomy as an art form.)<\/span><\/p>\n
