The town of Saint-Tropez, on the French Riviera, has issued details concerning Brigitte Bardot’s funeral, which is being held in the famous resort town on Wednesday 7 January 2026. Ms Bardot sadly passed away<\/a> at the age of 91 on 28 December 2025.<\/p>\n

The town said it is providing support in close co-operation with State services, Ms Bardot’s family, and the Brigitte Bardot Foundation “while fully respecting privacy, remembrance, and the wishes of her loved ones”.<\/p>\n

Brigitte Bardot Funeral Procession<\/h2>\n

The funeral procession will start at around 10:00 and pass through the town of Saint-Tropez, giving the public an opportunity to pay their final respects to the former film legend turned activist. The planned route will include the Bouillabaisse roundabout towards Place des Lices, then along Rue Sibilli and the harbour quays. “Members of the public are invited to observe this moment with respectful tribute along the route,” says Saint-Tropez.<\/p>\n

Church Service<\/h2>\n

Mass will start at 11:00, and is reserved for invited guests only.<\/p>\n

Live Broadcast<\/h2>\n

A live broadcast for the public will be shown on large screens located at the Port, the Town Hall Square, and Place des Lices. The broadcast is scheduled to begin from around 10:00.<\/p>\n

Bardot’s Burial<\/h2>\n

A private burial will take place at Saint-Tropez’s seaside cemetery, one of the few marine cemeteries in France, according to the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur tourism department. It’s a peaceful resting place that offers visitors a panoramic view over the Mediterranean. Bardot’s ex-husband (1952-1957), director Roger Vadim is also buried here. It was thanks to his film ‘And God Created Women’ (1956) that Bardot and Saint-Tropez were rocketed to world-wide fame.<\/p>\n

Public Tribute to the Film Icon<\/h2>\n

At around 14:00 (subject to change), Saint-Tropez will host the public in a moment of “shared remembrance and public tribute”. This will be held at Pr\u00e9 des P\u00eacheurs.<\/p>\n

Book of Condolences<\/h2>\n

For anyone unable to make it to Saint-Tropez who would like to leave a message or thought in memory of Brigitte Bardot, the town has create an online form where you can leave your condolences. This book will be given to her husband, Bernard d’Ormale whom she married in 1992. Visit:

Bardot Documentary Film Screenings<\/h2>\n

Cinema Star in Saint-Tropez will be re-screening the Bardot documentary as part of the tribute to the French former film actress. Screenings will begin on the day of her funeral and run until Monday 12 January. In Antibes, CinePlanet also has several screenings of the film running until Tuesday 13 January.<\/p>\n

The famous lighthouse has been transformed into a tribute to Bardot, featuring artwork that was created using two photographs for her 90th birthday celebrations in 2024.
