With a community made up of more than 60 nationalities, the International School of Nice<\/a> (ISN) is a place where diversity is celebrated every day. Our students bring with them languages, stories, and experiences from around the world, making ISN a genuine home for Third Culture Kids and global citizens. Supporting these students \u2014 and ensuring they feel settled, confident, and connected \u2014 is at the heart of who we are.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Welcoming International Environment<\/b><\/h3>\n

Third Culture Kids – children who grow up in cultures different from their parents\u2019 or who move frequently between countries – often understand the world differently. Many have lived in several countries, speak multiple languages, and are used to adapting to new environments. At ISN, this global perspective is embraced and enriched. Our classrooms are internationally minded by design, with teachers experienced in supporting multilingual learners and guiding students through the transition into a new school culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students quickly discover that they are surrounded by others who have shared similar experiences. This sense of familiarity, even in a new place, makes a powerful difference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Strong: Welcome Events<\/b><\/h3>\n

To help families settle from the moment they arrive, ISN hosts a dedicated welcome event at the start of the school year for new families. In-year joiners are also welcomed by connecting families with the existing ISN Community. These informal gatherings give students and parents the chance to meet staff, connect with others, and get a feel for day-to-day life at ISN. They are often the first step in building lasting friendships and support networks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Student Support: Homeroom Teachers, Facilitators, and Buddy Programmes<\/b><\/h3>\n

Our <\/span>homeroom teachers<\/b> play a central role in shaping each student\u2019s experience. As the first point of contact, they look after wellbeing, monitor progress, and help students integrate socially and academically. Their guidance is supported by the wider <\/span>Student Life and Wellness team<\/b>, ensuring that every child has a strong safety net \u2014 particularly important for students navigating the challenges of change and relocation.<\/span><\/p>\n

To make the transition even smoother, ISN combines <\/span>student facilitators<\/b> and a <\/span>buddy programme<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
