DESCRIPTION:As part of Pink October\, the League Against Cancer – Alpes-Maritimes Committee is organising the 3rd Défi Rose event in Antibes on Sunday\, 5 October. \nCome along in costume or not\, alone or with family\, friends and colleagues. You can walk or run the 5km between Fort Carré and La Siesta. \nDéfi Rose\nAll you need to know about Antibe’s Défi Rose:\n\nMeet at 2pm in the Fort Carré parking lot. The 5km walk/run starts earlier though – at 9am. There is also swimming and an aquathlon. SUMMARY:Antibes to Welcome the Olympic Flame
DESCRIPTION:Olympic torchbearers will pass through Antibes on 18 June\, carrying the Olympic Flame which has come all the way from Olympia in Greece (where the Olympic Games originated). \nA total of 25 torchbearers will pass the torch every 200 metres on an almost 5km route. According to the mayor’s office\, Antibes has been selected for the Olympic Flame’s journey in recognition of “the sporting commitment of our city and its athletes”. \nWhat route will the Olympic Flame take in Antibes?\nThe torchbearers will follow a coastal route from Pointe du Bacon to the Fort Carré stadium\, passing along the newly inaugurated Promenade des Remparts where members of the public can watch from three places (at the intersection with the three perpendicular avenues). Members of the public can stand anywhere else along the route except for the Cap d’Antibes section from Salis. \nWhat time will the Olympic Flame be welcomed to Antibes?\nThe event is expected to last 1 hour and 15 minutes\, with the flame leaving Pointe du Bacon at 15h07 and arriving at Fort Carré stadium at 16h22.
